“Mahanati” meaning (the great actress) is a Telugu language biography drama which depicts the life of a woman named ‘Savitri’.
The original Telugu version of the movie was released on the 9th of May 2018, and later was dubbed in Hindi and relaunched on the 14th of October 2021.
The movie has also won awards such as “The equality in Cinema Award” in the Indian film in Melbourne.

The story tells about the personal and professional experiences of a lady named Savitri who becomes a superstar and later becomes a Savitri addict, and so a generalist named Madhuravani grabs the opportunity to write a dissertation on her life.
The movie starts with Savitri wanting to enter into cinema and after a couple of failed attempts meets Gemini Ganeshan and the two start their career together and just in a short matter of time accomplish great stardom.
Later Savitri falls in love with Gemini despite knowing the fact that he’s married. Though she faces a lot of criticism from her family and people around she doesn’t give up on her love for Gemini, later the story takes a turn when the truth about Gemini gets revealed and not only with Savitri but he was continuing his illicit relationships with another woman too.
