How To: Install .jar Mods!

Your explanation of how to install Java mods is incorrect. The reason is that, if you place the Java file in the mod folder, it will only work in a basic mode until another mod is installed in a different section of the ".minecraft." folder. This is what I mean:

1. Cut or copy the jar file but don't put it in yet. 2. Navigate to the versions folder and create a new folder. Paste the jar file in the folder you created 4. Copy the jar file to the folder again, but this time with a new name. Open the jar file with notepad. Copy all the text and then exit the file. The copied file should be deleted 7. Create another file (most likely an txt file) and name it exactly as the jar file is named 8. Once you have it exactly written as the Jar file then save the file with that name as an .json file 9. Open the json file using Notpad and copy the next one 10. StartMinecraft craftingand choose the mod you want to "made."

10,5. If this isn't working, follow these steps: Open the versions folder and select one you don't need (if the mod is using 1.7.10 it is necessary to locate a folder running the 1.7.10 Minecraft version 12. Copy the jar file into the folder you've chosen. Rename it exactly to match the JSON file. Start the launcher and select the version

If you're unable locate the folder, you can go back to the versions folder and check for the folder that was last edited. Then, you can rename it to your liking. I suggest that you rename the files inside the folder exactly the same way as the folder's name is.
