Concussion Incidents In USA Football

With more and more people playing football year-round, the number of concussions has been on the rise. In 2017, there were 3,154 reported concussions in high school football, according to data from the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS). Thats a 9 percent increase from 2016. And despite heightened awareness and publicity surrounding concussions, their incidence continues to rise in youth football.

The NFHS data also shows that girls are almost twice as likely as boys to suffer a concussion while playing football. This discrepancy may be due to gender differences in how often players are diagnosed with concussions and treated for them. Girls are less likely than boys to report their injuries and seek treatment, so their rates of concussion may not be accurately reflected in the NFHS data.

In addition to the health risks posed by concussions, they can also have a negative impact on players academic pursuits. Liverpool Train With Champions League Trophy In Hand

Liverpool travelled to Basel with the Champions League Trophy in hand, looking to win their sixth European Cup, following a 1-1 draw against Basel in the group stage. Liverpool dominated possession throughout the game, but they couldn't break through Basel's defence and they were forced to settle for a point. The match was a tactical battle between Brendan Rodgers' side and Jurgen Klopp's new-look Liverpool. The Reds looked more threatening going forward in the second half but were unable to find the back of the net. Basel goalkeeper Yann Sommer made several impressive saves to keep his team in the game, including a stunning effort from Philippe Coutinho which hit the post. In the end, Liverpool will be happy with their point as they now head into their final group stage game against Napoli with a chance of qualifying for the knockout stages.
The next match for Liverpool is against Napoli at Anfield on October 24th and tickets are still available.
