COSPLAY was introduced into China later. The first recorded COSPLAY in Taiwan Province was on August 27, 1995, which was located on the first floor of SAGAWORLD in Kaohsiung. However, it was reported that the scale was not large at that time, and the characters were mainly from video games. After that, on October 13, 1996, Taipei Baby Bear Restaurant held an autumn party by Super Orange Group. Although it was widely publicized before the meeting and many people knew it, the scale was still small. This situation continued until mid-February, 1997, when three events were held in succession, the number of COSPLAY began to increase, and it also formed the characteristics of COSPLAY in Taiwan Province. Since then, the number of COSPLAY events in Taiwan Province has started to increase year by year, and the venue has also developed from north to south-central. The popularity of COSPLAY activities in Taiwan Province can be seen from one class.
COSPLAY appeared in Hong Kong before Taiwan Province. It is said that Hong Kong had its own COSPLAY as early as 1993. At that time, Hong Kong didn't have any fan volunteers for sale. Generally speaking, fan associations exhibited and sold through the art festival venue held every year in Hong Kong at that time. It was in that year (1993) that a fan organization named "400 feet" put on the uniform of the Allied Forces in "Galaxy the legend of heroes" and appeared at the venue, thus they became the original COSPLAY in Hong Kong. In the same venue next year, they played the same role as allies, but this time they also brought another group of fan associations named "UVRZ" to play role-playing. Those female members of "UVRZ" wear Japanese witch women's dresses and pray for visitors with witch sticks. In 1995, "400 feet" played the role of "Mobile Police", while "UVRZ" began to play some famous cartoon and game roles in that year, such as You Jing in "The Wild Horse 1/2" or Belu Dandi in "My Love God". Superman Costume Since 1996, the "Four Hundred Feet" community has retired from doing any COSPLAY, but at the same time, other fan associations have started to dress up one after another, making the number of COSPLAY circles in Hong Kong keep climbing. Shortly after this, Hong Kong's first "My Companion Sale" was jointly organized by "UVRZ", "ComicBabies" and "Fire Dog Workshop" (but it was also the only time, and Hong Kong never performed such a show again), which of course expanded COSPLAY's influence in Hong Kong again. Because of the expansion of influence year by year, the Comic Association of Hong Kong began to hold the first animation exhibition that truly belongs to comic fans from July 30 to August 3, 1998, when the admission fee was HK$ 25. It is said that COSPLAY in this exhibition is the most popular in history, and many people play the roles of Ba Shen, grass shaving and other fighting games. On that occasion, the winner of the first COSPLAY competition in Hong Kong-"Fun Fun Costume Competition" was a girl dressed as Dhritarastra in The Holy Biography. After that, SE Co., Ltd., TG Square and Hong Kong Art Supplies Professional Center held the first ComicWorld on August 30, 1998 on the indoor sports occasion of Macpherson in Mong Kok. And for the first time, a "dress and dress photography area" was divided in the venue to facilitate the exhibitors to take photos. What's more surprising is that at that time, some people started to COSPLAY "Inuyasha"! ? In the following years, the exhibitions among university associations gradually began to show their leading role and became another active venue in Hong Kong COSPLAY.
