You might have noticed that my initial thought was actually to retrieve all my "life data". So i searched google. Google and Android provide seamless backups of all your images. This was the reason i had a break for a short time, when i was copying all my photos and images and videos i've had system backup throughout the years. PRAISE GOGLE! LOL.
