The Cafe Techno in SoHo

A Nightclub in the former garage of a former gas station, The Cafe Techno features live music, a coffeehouse, and drinks, as well as various events. A visit here is worth the trip to the city. The Techno-Cafe was opened to the public in 2003. The opening day had several challenges. The students needed time to adjust. They would sit in the cafe for ten or fifteen minutes and then return to the old-style computer lab and start typing away. The students were used to working at individual desktop machines and communicated when they needed help. This was a huge mistake. The new setup proved to be a big success, and Techno was pleased that the students appreciated it.

A couple of young people decided to stop by for a cup of coffee before a long flight. They would probably want to relax before a long flight and avoid any annoying noises. The pulleys would retract back and forth so that they are positioned just the right distance from their seat. The cafe was very popular among young people and was a great spot to meet new people and work on projects.

The Techno-Cafe is open 24 hours a day. They are equipped with vending machines and bar facilities. There are no limitations on technology, and the booths are called 'pods' and have a table at the center. Each pod is populated with a computer, tablet PC, and 48-inch plasma screen. The students are allowed to tap into the computers in the booths to work on their projects. The 'pods' are backed by a cosy ceiling and feature top lighting.

When I visited the Techno-Cafe for my last visit, I noticed that Phil had changed a lot. His cheeks were fuller and his hair looked healthier. He was even able to talk with me while he was working, despite the fact that it was the last time I saw him. The 'pods' were separated by a door that opened in the back of the caf and are separated by a glass wall.

It would be better if the Cafe Techno was not so busy.
