Afro Klectic

Afro Klecticis a blog created by Australian born Ghanaian Gillean Opoku. Afroklectic's mission is to inspire creativity within the African-Australian community and to share the African culture with a wider audience, both inside and outside of Australia. Sepha fled to Australia from her native Ethiopia in the late 1970s. Eventually, she settled in Washington DC, where she has been a resident for seventeen years. Other Afro Klectic contributors include "Ken the Kenyan," a close friend of Stephanos, and "Joe from the Congo," a waiter at the Colonial Grill in downtown DC who is a former African refugee from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Despite having a PhD, he holds on to his college books and quotes poetry from his country.
