The White House Augmented Reality: New '1600 App



After the huge success of Pokemon Go, the White House is believed to be looking to capitalize on the burgeoning interest in AR. 1600 is now available as an official White House app.Huliypin Anyone can use it with a smartphone, tablet or computer and a $1 bill to explore 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.



White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest today wrote that President Obama has used traditional events and new technology to open the White House's doors to more Americans than ever before.



Although the app doesn't grant you any security clearance, it will provide you with a 3D interactive view of the White House if you point your camera at the dollar bill. As you fly around the tiny, Minecraft-esque White House, you can even watch major events such as state arrival ceremonies and the annual Easter Egg Roll unfold.



The app is free to download (Thanks, Obama) and was created by the White House Historical Association and Nexus Studios. It's available on iOS and Android devices.
