Technoblade the top Minecraft YouTuber, has passed away aged 23 after a battle with cancer.
Technoblade his father, who is the creator, posted a touching video to YouTube on Thursday entitled "so long geeks". It included a message by Technoblade. The father of the creator said that the video was created in collaboration with his family in his final days. However, Technoblade wrote it eight hours before his death. In the message, he revealed his real name: Alex.
"Hello everyone, Technoblade here. This is what you should be seeing. I'm dead," he wrote in the message, which was read out by his father. "Thank you all for your support of my work over the years. I'm convinced Technoblade would be my first choice if I had another hundred lives. They were the most joyous years of my life.
His father said in the video that he was "the most incredible child you could ever ask for." Technoblade is my favorite.
Technoblade who has 10.8 millions YouTube subscribers, shared his August 2021 cancer diagnosis to them on YouTube.
Technoblade's family released a statement at the end of the video on Thursday.
"We, the family of Technoblade, wanted you all to know just how much he adored and respected his colleagues and fans. Technoblade was an online community from its infancy. He was always looking for ways to delight and give his followers a reward," it said.
"Even after his eventual successes he somehow managed to keep his good-natured humour, and compete with an endearing balance between self-confidence and self-deprecation with. He was determined to keep his identity a secret and stayed away from fame. We ask that you respect his wishes to protect his privacy and the privacy of his family.
Technoblade's online shop also includes a tribute message, which states that a percentage of online purchases will be donated to the Sarcoma Foundation of America. "This online store is being operated by the Technoblade family. We are grateful for the joy he's brought us over the years, and we would like to continue spreading his message," it says.
A black T-shirt is one of the items found in the store. It features the words "so long geeks" under the design.
Technoblade's fans and friends have also shared touching tributes to him online. Some are co-creators and collaborators and others have watched the YouTuber for years.
Hypixel, a Minecraft server for minigames, also uploaded an eloquent tribute to. He was a frequent player on the server. Simon Collins-Laflamme who was the chief executive officer and founder of Technoblade stated in a statement that Technoblade was "one of the most adored YouTubers".
