The first Month of RuneScape 3 by the Numbers

It's been more than one month since RuneScape upgraded to RuneScape 3 -- an overhaul of the graphics and mechanics, but still maintains the essence of the game. How has it performed over the past month? Jagex's team has compiled some numbers that look very positive. In the last 30 days, 100,000 players have activated old accounts, while 300,000 have created new accounts to play the game.

Around 600,000 hours of gameplay are being recorded each day for all new, existing, and reactivated accounts, which is pretty staggering. Since the game's debut event, players have killed 60 million enemy soldiers and collected 1 billion Divine Tears (remnants of a now-dead god whose death kicked off the current state of the game). Although it is premature to judge the game as an success or failure this is a sign that even games from the past still have a lot of life.

Jagex also released video about the brand new Nightmare Zone. This is content that is now available for Old School RuneScape, but isn't coming to RuneScape 3 itself.runescape wiki We've embedded it below.
