Minecraft Chat Reporting Features are Keeping Mojang Says Mojang

Minecraft's chat reporting and moderation features were first launched last month, but quickly saw community feedback decrying them as insufficient for the job. However, despite some rational criticism and arguments being thrown against the tools, Mojang has said they'll continue to use the tools as they are.

MojangMeesh, the community manager on Reddit, put up a post explaining the decision. "We appreciate and value your feedback, but it does not mean that it will ever change the design principles Mojang Studios follows - this includes upcoming reporting system." The second paragraph of the post states that players have been making comments on complaints submitted by Mojang employees. Harassment is a concern and is ironically the purpose of the reporting tools in the first place.

Many players reacted to this comment by stating that they don't feel like they're being listened to. To them, every one of their Minecraft servers is an oasis of safety and shouldn't be censored if they don't want it to be. This is so much the case that there are several ways to eliminate these features from your server, whether using Spigot, or a CurseForge mod.

If there aren't any complaints or discussions about the features, it is normal for players to be unhappy. A lot of players have over a decade in this game and as adults, they think that they shouldn't have to be watched over.Aare It's important to keep in mind that Minecraft is a game that has numerous younger players. Therefore it is essential to have safety features in place to safeguard them. It doesn't seem as though anything will be changing anytime soon.
