Canton's First Monday Trade Days


First Monday Trade Days may become a yearly event throughout East Texas, but that doesn't mean that it can't keep hundreds of hundreds of people traveling to in the Canton area Canton for four days every month. The trade days are open from Thursday to Friday, just before the 1st Monday every month hundreds of vendors are set up offering a wide range of shopping opportunities.


The park that began over a century ago as a flea-market has turned into an ideal location for the most modern, exciting home furnishings, antiques and collectibles seen anywhere. Over the past 150 years, many things have changed at these quaint streets of the Original First Monday Park; but the genuine, honest relationship between sellers and customers are the reason they continue to return.

September 2nd-5th


September 30th-October 3rd


October 28th - October 31st


December 2nd - 5th



According to site of First Monday Trade Days website, it is the oldest and largest continuously operating outdoor flea markets located in the United States.


According people at markets, concept that led to the idea of First Monday Trade Days started in the 1850's as the circuit judge was able to visit Canton on the first Monday of every month. Everyone from the county came to the town for court proceedings. In time, residents would bring their own possessions, whether it be produce, livestock or other pieces of originality, to sell or trade. In the year 1965 First Monday outgrew the town's Town Square so it was moved to its current site. And that was the end of it...


First Monday Trade Days is made up of a variety of private sellers . Ascanton tx flea market , chances are, no matter how many times you've visited there, you'll never get to see all. The flea market is located over hundreds of acres, offering more than 700,00 square yards of shopping.



The event on First Monday is free, but the majority of the parking spots surrounding the trade areas charge $5 for parking
