Solutions of Whitening Teeth

In the first case, you need a professional removal of soft and hard dental deposits, which will restore the natural color of your teeth. This procedure is recommended to be done twice a year to absolutely all people for the prevention of caries and periodontal disease. This is the so-called teeth whitening.

Teeth whitening

Now let's talk about chemical bleaching. It can be office (i.e. in the dentist's chair) and Teeth Whitening kits at home. Modern whitening systems include hydrogen peroxide-based substances. Dyes, the so-called polychromatophores, accumulate at the enamel-dentin interface. Under the influence of a whitening agent, as a result of oxidative processes, polychromatophores decompose into simpler substances that can be washed out of the tooth tissues, which ensures a decrease in pigmentation, that is, teeth whitening. It is impossible to accurately predict the final result of the procedure.

Office whitening can change the color of your teeth by 5-6 tones. Teeth with yellow, brown or orange shades lend themselves better to whitening. Extra whitening, i.e. the process of washing out pigments after the procedure goes on for another two weeks. That is why, within two days after the procedure, a strict white diet is recommended and the next two weeks limiting the intake of highly dyes. Only after two weeks can the final color of the teeth be determined and, if necessary, replace the old restorations with new ones.

Modern whitening systems do not harm or disrupt the structure of the teeth if they are used correctly (you need to remember that whitening is a medical procedure and can only be carried out by a doctor), some of them include substances to strengthen the enamel. The unpleasant moments of whitening include a possible increase in tooth sensitivity and irritation of the gums (during or after the procedure), but, as a rule, these sensations disappear after 1-2 days.

Teeth whitening at home

Home whitening involves the use of whitening systems at home, independently by the patient. The home systems contain the same substances, but in a lower concentration. Before use, it is imperative to consult a dentist and carefully read the instructions. It should be remembered that home whitening will brighten your teeth by 1-2 tones.

Contraindications and unpleasant moments are the same as for office whitening, and the result is delayed (long-lasting).  First of all, the doctor will examine you, tell you about the upcoming procedure, conduct the necessary examination and reveal the presence or absence of contraindications. These include:

·       Age under 18

·       Pregnancy and breastfeeding

·       Ontological diseases

·       Blood diseases, etc.

The whitening effect lasts for 1-2 years or more, and depends on many factors. To maintain the result, the doctor may recommend you home whitening, whitening pastes and other oral hygiene products, and do not forget about professional hygiene!  If you have one tooth discolored, contact your dentist. He will recommend the best solution for this problem for you, one of which may be intracoronal bleaching of this tooth with special bleaching systems.
