DIY Dog Food Storage Container Inspiration Made Simple

I needed a garage box for my dogs food for the hot house. We use to maintain it in the garage in a can in the old house, but the way we set up our new garage, there wasnt an outstanding spot for it. I have in-builts in my dining room and the underside portion is definitely the best place to maintain a can of food. However, I didnt want some ugly trash can sitting in my dining room! While at Home Goods I stumbled on a simple white can that was best for my needs, and at only $15 it didnt cost a fortune!I snapped it up and ran home to create the perfect DIY Dog Food Storage Container. Because my built ins are painted white I didnt want the complete can white.

I picked up a can of Krylon Spray Paint in Bauhaus Gold and gave the lid of the can two coats. I contemplated making a stencil and spraying the words Dog Food in yellow, and even spraying the entire can yellow, but ended up identifying to keep the body white and use black vinyl from Expressions Vinyl to create the words. I created the Dog Food vinyl on my Cricut Explore. I saved the SVG file that I created and have made it available as a free download at the bottom of this post so that if you have a cutting desktop, which you can recreate the label!I used Cricut move tape, which has lines to assist ensure your words are level when applying the vinyl. Im not a huge fan of Cricuts vinyl, I dont think it has the coolest sticking power, but their move tape is AWESOME because it is reusable and works really well.

Once I made sure the words were established and level, I simply stuck them to the can, filled it with my dogs ridiculously costly prescription food and called it a day!Now my pet food garage container fits anything of my home decor!lifegoalcompleteHi Amber, THANK YOU!I just tested the link and it continues to be operating.Tips On How To Make Money On HubPages Easilydownloads a zip file, that you must unzip to get the svg.
