This may be too difficult a question to answer

I'm considering purchasing the Cannon. But I'm not too knowledgeable about them, aside from what that dwarf explained to OSRS GP me at the end of the quest. I saw a person making use of one in the face of a group of Ogres to the west of Yanille the other day. It's useful, but I'm not sure if there's some restrictions to where it can be used making it pretty useless often. Could it be used in the wildy in pvp? It's probably not...

For one, you know what happens when objects you drop "evaporate" within a couple of minutes? Does the same thing happen to cannons? I.e. in the event that you place it in the right spot and let it continue to shoot is it going to disappear in a matter of minutes? Then, is it a gun that follows special rules that it doesn't disintegrate and will remain until the owner takes it up again?

Also, if you are playing RS for an one or two hours at times, you can anticipate the server going down and having to log in to another world. Are you able to lose your cannon should this happen? Are you able to get another for free from the mining camp north of Fally?

Additionally, if you do die, does the cannon stay there where you put it until you can come back to pick it up? Does it go on your gravestone? Or do you lose it? Is the cannon substituted for free by the dwarf? In any case?

This may be too difficult a question to answer but this is the question anyway: how many cannonballs would I need for 87-99 Slayer? I know this is difficult, but even an estimate within the range of 25 or 50K would be fantastic. I'm trying to buy OSRS gold figure this out, since I'm planning to order all my cannonballs now, since I've come to the conclusion that it will save me a lot of money in the long run.
