CEO Sam Altman announced on the X platform that OpenAI has temporarily stopped taking new subscribers for its premium ChatGPT Plus service, citing an excessive demand.
According to Altman, “We want to make sure everyone has a great experience, so we are pausing new ChatGPT Plus sign-ups for a bit…the surge in usage post-dev day has exceeded our capacity.”
He gave OpenAI users the reassurance that they may still sign up to receive notifications within the app when subscriptions become accessible once more. At its first developer conference in San Francisco earlier this month, OpenAI unveiled GPT4 Turbo, a powerful language model.
