Panthers are correct and Corral will develop into a Madden NFL 24 starter then his choice will be a coup

NBC Sports' Chris Simms featured Chris Simms from NBC Sports' Chris Corral as the number. 1 QB in the 2022 draft, noting his quick release and athleticism as being rare , and that he would need time to understand Madden NFL 24 offensive principles. The thing that makes Simms' case persuasive is the fact that he was his only analyst who was 100% certain that Josh Allen being the best QB of the 2018 draft, and vastly favoring him over Mayfield or Darnold. Of course, it's just one person's opinion, but in the event that Simms and Panthers are correct and Corral will develop into a Madden NFL 24 starter then his choice will be a coup.

When you consider all of these aspects, the picture begins to put all of these factors together. Mayfield does more than help the Panthers win now however, he is also the canary within the mine of coal of McAdoo's offense. It's a low-cost litmus-test to determine whether the West Coast adjacent scheme with RPO components will work with the current roster of skill positions in Carolina. If it doesn't, Baker takes the heat and will try again using Corral after making some adjustments. If this is the case, there's a fairly decent successorship plan to pivot from Mayfield to Corral and keep everything else the same. This simply could not happen when it comes to Sam Darnold, who really does not offer anything based on what the Panthers have been trying to achieve to move forward.

There's no doubt that this is still the most awkward route taking. The right choice is to not choose a QB for 2022's Madden NFL 24 Draft, continue to take their lumps this season, then dive into the QB pool for 2023 when there could be seven or eight QBs could be taken in the first round. The approach that was chosen wouldn't have met the goal that was set by Coach Matt Rhule or owner David Tepper in convincing that they have the ability to put together an elite team onto the playing field. The desperateness in Carolina can be detected at a distance and that's exactly what this move was about.

There's still a chance, however small, that a tiny glimmer of hope that this grand plan can be successful. The hope is that Mayfield can stabilize the ship in 2022 and get Carolina its much-needed success immediately as well as prove McAdoo's offensive can be effective and Corral is waiting to take over. That's a lot of dominoes that have to fall in the right order however there is some possibility. Now we wait to see how the Panthers are the ones who will be laughing or if they will continue to be the subject of jokes.
