Firefly luciferase (fluc) can catalyze the bioluminescence reaction of luciferin. The reaction process is shown in the following figure.

Dual Luciferase Reporter Assay Kit

Firefly luciferase (fluc) and renilla luciferase (renilla luciferase, rluc) can catalyze the bioluminescence reaction of luciferin and coelenterazine, respectively, as shown in the following figure.

In the dual-luciferase Reaction, the fLuc signal was detected by Luciferase Reaction Reagent I. Subsequently, Luciferase Reaction Reagent II was added directly. The signal of fLuc was quenched and the rLuc signal was generated at the same time. This method has the advantages of simple operation, fast detection and high sensitivity.
