I am the recipient. I was able to complete my Bachelors in college degree online in only 3 years. It included two part-time and night jobs, as well as being a full-time worker to support my family. I'm not talking about Devry or any other well-known online colleges. I went to my local school and there were no special programs and no particular treatment, and I paid as others, and received help from the state the same way as others.... To make long story short, here's what did to reduce the amount of time I had to study..
My other job was to just sit and walk across the premises looking for danger. It's true. It was basically a security patrol job. This left me with plenty of time so I started bringing books and reading school materials to work. It's amazing that online schools are open 24 hours per day, so I was able to work on my homework and submit them around 3:00 in the morning. After I discovered that most of those lectures were posted on Youtube and Vimeo, hidden under special titles that didn't invite any traffic. Only users with access URLs knew the content.
Then I started to copy the videos onto my computer before heading to work. Internet was slow sometimes because of the remote location of work-related sites. To be able for a proper study I required the complete video on my laptop in order to enjoy my time at work. In order to convert Youtube video URLs into the memory clipboard of my laptop, I simply had to copy the URL and then click the submit button. The program would present me with various options to download that were organized by audio and size. I could convert the Youtube video files to mp3 or continue until the Mp4 converter is available and gives seberal video MP4 file download options.
I was able to utilize my spare time to study, by having the lectures on my laptop. This is why I completed my bachelor degree in IT two semesters ahead of all the other students. I only hope that my next job will give me the opportunity to learn. It's incredibly satisfying.
