Minecraft Developer Continues to Grow in Profit, Raking in $128 million By 2022



Mojang, development studio behind the hugely successful Minecraft has maintained its five-year run of growing profits. Mojang's 2012 revenue was $237 million. A Wall Street Journal article reported that the number reached $326 million in 2013 which translates to nearly $128 million in profit.



Around 93 percent of the company's money was generated from Minecraft which was split fairly evenly across platforms including 38 percent from the PC version 30 percent from console versions, and 25 percent from mobile versions.



Markus "Notch", the Minecraft creator, is still the owner of the rights. In 2011, Mojang paid $129 million in license fees for Persson.FUN GALLERY [Image: Mojang]
