Like Telltale's other Works

Minecraft's silent landscaper Steve is exiting his solitary world and entering Telltale's realm of stories: Minecraft is getting a "narrative-driven" game by the team behind The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones games. Minecraft: Story Mode, like Telltale's other works will be episodic and accessible across a variety of platforms when it launches "sometime in 2015." Apparently Microsoft's promise to keep Minecraft multiplatform is proving to be true, despite the acquisition.

Telltale describes the game as a collaboration with Mojang and says it wont exist as an attachment for Minecraft. Instead, it will be a standalone series "driven by the preferences of players." Mojang and Telltale both point out that they are working with the community to develop the story. Mojang specifically states, "We're definitely not planning to create an official story for Steve [the main protagonist in Minecraft] or explain the world of Minecraft in detail."

There are no videos or images of the game in action yet, but we're expecting to see a similar, distinct art style to that of Minecraft.
