The Batman movie managed to restore the fans' trust in DC Comics films. A number of follow-up film projects from DC Comics characters have also been prepared by the Warner Bros. team. So, what are the DC films that will soon follow The Batman?
1. DC League of Super-Pets
DC League of Super-Pets is an animated film written and directed by Jared Stern. He previously had success in writing the screenplay for The LEGO Batman Movie. DC League of Super-Pets is scheduled to premiere on May 20, 2022. The film will feature Krypto the Superdog, Ace the Bat-Hound, and several other animal characters who represent the Justice League in the DC universe. 2. Black Adam
Black Adam will be the first superhero film starring Dwayne Johnson. Originally, Black Adam was to be featured in the film Shazam! starring Zachary Levi. But DC finally decided to keep this character and move on to make his solo film. Black Adam will be shown as a modern anti-hero who brings The Justice Society of America into the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). 3. The Flash
DC's seriousness in rebuilding its superhero universe is increasingly visible from the appearance of The Flash in the Justice League film. Played by Ezra Miller, Barry Allen is ready to start his step on the superhero stage. DC even used The Flash to open up their multiverse and bring back Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck's version of the old Batman. 4. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom
One of the sequel films that DC fans have been waiting for is Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Jason Momoa returns as Arthur Curry aka Aquaman along with other players such as Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Nicole Kidman, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. Still under the direction of director James Wan, Aquaman 2 began filming in June 2021 and only finished in early 2022. The film is scheduled to be released on December 16, 2022.
5. Shazam! Fury of the Gods
Since it was first introduced, the character Shazam! indeed received praise for the color that is different from other DC films. Not only was it successful with praise, the film featuring Zachary Levi was also quite in demand in terms of sales. David F. Sandberg returned to fill the director's chair with a number of old players in the first film. Shazam! Fury of the Gods will reportedly bring Helen Mirren as Hespera and Lucy Liu as Kalypso for its opponents. The production process has started since May 2021 and completed in August. But DC saved the film for a June 2, 2023 release.
