Main processing objects of CNC machining

CNC milling is one of the most common machining methods in machining, including plane milling and contour milling, and drilling, expanding, reaming and boring machining and tapping of parts. The parts suitable for CNC are as follows:

  1. plane parts

The feature of plane parts is that each machined surface is plane or can be expanded into a plane. At present, most of the parts processed on CNC milling machine belong to plane parts. Plane parts are the simplest type of CNC machining objects. Generally, it can be processed only by the two axis linkage of three-axis CNC milling machine (i.e. two axis and half coordinate processing).

  1. parts with variable angle

The parts with continuous change of angle between machining surface and horizontal plane are called variable angle parts. It is better to use four or five axis CNC milling machine to process the parts with variable angle. If there is no such machine tool, the two axis and half control line cutting method can be used for approximate processing on the three-axis CNC milling machine, but the precision is slightly poor.

  1. surface (solid) parts

The parts of machining surface are called surface parts. The machining surface of curved parts always contact with milling cutter. Generally, it is processed by three-axis linkage CNC milling machine. The common processing methods are as follows:

  1. The two axis and half linkage line cutting method is used to process. The line cutting method is that only two coordinates are linked in the process, and the other coordinate is given according to a certain line spacing period. This method is often used in the processing of less complex space surfaces.

  1. The three axis linkage method is used to process. The milling machine must have the function of X, y and Z axes linkage, and can be inserted in space straight line. This method is often used in the machining of complex space surfaces such as engine and die.
