Kalauji Oil is extracted from the seeds of Nigella Sativa Linn., through Cold Pressing Methods. It is native to Eastern Europe and Western Asia but now naturalised everywhere else. It is also known as Black Seed or Black Cumin seed oil. It belongs to the Ranunculaceae family of plantae kingdom. Kalauji Seeds are found in every Asian Household, it is used as a seasoning, garnishing, etc in foods and Cuisine. It is also used as a garnish in Naan, an Indian bread. Signs of Black seeds were also found in Tutankhamun’s tomb of Egypt.
