This study examined the nucleolus organizer areas of Cyprinion macrostomus. This species had a diploid number of chromosomes, 2n=50, which included three pairs each of metacentric, twelve pairs of submetacentric, six subtelocentric, four pairs of acrocentric, and six pairs of subtelocentric. Two pairs of submetacentric chromosomes of medium size were found to have their nucleolus organizer areas at the ends of their short arms. The patterns of the nucleolus organizer regions were almost identical to those found in other Eurasian Cyprinids.
