McGill University


McGill University is a public research university located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The university was founded by a charter issued by King George IV in 1821 and named after James McGill, a Scottish businessman who founded the University's predecessor, McGill University (or simply McGill College) in 1813; In 1885 it was renamed McGill University. McClellan's main campus is located on the slopes of Mount Royal in Montreal, and the second is located 30 kilometers (19 miles) west of the main campus in Saint-Anne-de-Bello. And on the island of Montreal. Along with the University of Toronto, the university is one of only two universities outside the United States to be members of the Association of American Universities and the only Canadian member of the World Economic Forum's Global University Leaders' Forum (GULF).
