WRUP: Come On, Man, It Is The '90s

Each week, just firstly of the weekend, we meet up with the WoW Insider staff and ask them, "What are you enjoying this week?" -- otherwise generally known as: WRUP. Be a part of us to see what we're up to in and out of game, and catch us in the feedback to tell us what you are taking part in, too!

Going to BlizzCon? No? Why not? It is the '90s! Everybody's going to conventions today!

Sure, it is in Southern California, and for lots of you, that is a long way from home. However man, that is the '90s. They have planes now. And a few of these planes even have air telephones.MINECRAFT JAVAcan hook up your 14.4k modem to a kind of and connect with your favorite Warcraft 2 BBS, perhaps play just a little Legend of the Red Dragon from 20,000 feet. Why not? It is the '90s!

What's that? You say it's not the '90s -- it's 2011? Well, after all it is! I do know precisely what immediately is. See this Casio digital watch on my wrist? It has the day, week, month, and year on it. Everyone's acquired one -- everybody, that's, who's dwelling within the '90s.

BlizzCon, the most popular event of the '90s, is developing in a mere two weeks. So immediately, along with the same old query of "What are you taking part in?" (Tremendous Nintendo and Scattergories, obvi), I had our high-notch writers (lots of whom have Tripod pages) answer a bonus query: "What terrific recommendation do you might have for the go-go BlizzCon attending people of the '90s?"

Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) This weekend can be spent finishing my entry for the worldwide Writing Contest -- in different phrases, writing like a madwoman.

As for BlizzCon -- ensure that you will have plenty of water along, the convention corridor is larger than it seems to be! Present up for panels early, verify the events schedule and determine what you wish to hit in advance. Also -- comfy shoes. Seriously, you will be on your toes pretty much all day lengthy. Comfy shoes are the most effective!

Allison Robert (@AllisonRobert) I will be going to another wedding this weekend however will in any other case be on the PTR getting notes for an upcoming Shifting on tanking and healing the three new 5-mans.

As for BlizzCon, I have but to go, but if I needed to guess from previous experiences with educational conferences and the like, have just one bit of advice: Don't wear heels.

Alex Ziebart (@AlexZiebart) (gplus.to/alexziebart) Been playing some Dead Island and hopefully will get a hefty amount of co-op time in with a buddy of mine. Good coop video games are way more rare than they ought to be.

For BlizzCon, take more shirts than you think you may want. Should you get tremendous-sweaty, cease into your resort room and change shirts. It's better than being smelly and uncomfortable all day.

Chase Hasbrouck First WRUP /yay. Continuing my feral soloing in venture in WoW (when Kuwaiti latency allows), else enjoying SpaceChem on Steam. All the enjoyable of programming without the code!

BlizzCon: never been, but expertise has taught me all the time to observe the three W's when traveling: water, weight, and walking (comfortably).

Daniel Desmond (@hazmacewillraid) I'll be doing just a little bit of PTR spelunking, making an attempt out the brand new dungeons and paladin adjustments, but principally I will be scratching a few more tallies into my wall with a plastic spoon, counting the days until Skyrim releases.

As for BlizzCon, this will be my first! As such, I will be sticking to my guildmates like black leather seats on a hot summer season day.

Daniel Whitcomb (@DanielWhitcomb) Since my mage and warrior are on hold till the 4.3 goes live, I may see if I can solo me some more tier 5 for my warlock. I'm also taking part in some Aquaria and Bastion (again) on Steam, so I could do some more with these games.

My recommendation? Hygiene. Namely, double-, triple-, and quadruple-examine your travel bag. When you miss one thing like a toothbrush or a shaving package, chances are high you'll need to pay an arm and a leg to replace it.

Daybreak Moore (@dawnwow) Not enjoying anything this weekend, but I'll be watching a lot of StarCraft 2 and League of Legends at IPL3.

Recommendation for BlizzCon? Hmm ... Ready within the badge decide-up line is not needed if you do not must be the primary one into opening ceremonies. Simply pick up your badge while everyone seems to be in line for the ceremonies and you will be in and out in 5 minutes.

Elizabeth Wachowski (@leeatwaterlives) I am still on my honeymoon in NYC, however once i get back I will probably begin AC: Brotherhood, since my AC2 disc is scratched and I do not assume I can end.

Fox Van Allen (@foxvanallen) (gplus.to/foxvanallen) I've been in Philly for a stable a part of the week, and I'll be staying in Philly throughout the weekend hanging with my buddy Chester. All kinds of enjoyable can be had. Like at present, I ate Dutch meals. We're a terribly boring people, we Dutch.

My BlizzCon recommendation: If you want to hold out with Fox, I suggest you get your request in ahead of time, as a result of there are many of you, very few nights in stunning Southern California, and just one Fox. Additional, I counsel anyone who just isn't from an space with Jack in the Field eating places to go eat at a Jack in the Box restaurant. Oh my god.

Joe Perez (@Lodurzj) Extra LoL, I have a new champion to study! Also more alt leveling in WoW and actually looking ahead to another choose my adventure day Sunday; I'll probably begin earlier (three p.m.) this week and go till 5. I'll also be livestreaming the journey, so make sure to look at Twitter for the hyperlink and time!

Biggest BlizzCon blunder: not carrying comfy and supportive sneakers. Critically, you stand and stroll so much that you are a fool if you do not. Also, the quantity of pain your ft will probably be in can be surprising. Also, drink / convey a number of water and try to eat outdoors of the convention heart. Heaps of good native places to nom things at which might be a quick walk from the convention heart.

Josh Myers (@Elamqt) I'm liking my military of premade and fundamental-transferred shaman on the PTR. I even have a lone mage premade who was arrange with spec/glyphs/keybinds/and so forth. and then promptly forgotten.

I haven't any BlizzCon advice, though I caution all Wow Insider meetup attendees to keep away from eye contact with Fox. That is simply common sense, though.

(Wonderful level. This is how I choose my prey. -- Fox)

Kelly Aarons (@Cadistra) Hoping for some high quality time with my DS, however I'm undecided, as I will be working at my job, doing artwork, and it is Thanksgiving up here in Canada-land, so there's that. I will be heading out of city Sunday night to see my household.

BlizzCon advice? Take the health-examine:

Convey a number of water with you.

Wear comfy sneakers (with insoles if necessary). Remember to stretch your decrease back every hour or so!

Bring some protein-rich snacks with you -- natural food bars, dry-roasted nuts (like almonds and cashews). Con food is overpriced and full of crap, and this can keep you fuller longer. /well being nerd

Mat McCurley (@gomatgo) (gplus.to/gomatgo) I'm a broken file. League of Legends and WoW.

Suggestions for BlizzCon: bring a bottle of water if you can, take things gradual, wear snug footwear, and buy Mat McCurley drinks at the WoW Insider Reader Meetup.

Matt Low (@matticus) In a change of tempo, playing on my Nintendo DS. Replaying some Closing Fantasy VI! My faaaaaavourite Ultimate Fantasy sequence -- ever!

Matt Rossi (@matthewrossi) (gplus.to/MatthewWRossi) My hand is absolutely screwed up now, so unhealthy I don't suppose I can play a lot of something. (I am typing this one-finger, hunt-and-peck style).

As for BlizzCon, I've by no means been.

Matt Walsh (@Rhidach) Some Sword of the Stars with some buddies, for (probable) final game before the sequel comes out. We'll ship the outdated girl off in model. I am going to even be getting some critical Minecraft time in since my guild's server was down last week. Need to make up for lost time!

This may only be my second BlizzCon, however the largest thing I picked up final 12 months is to be really early to something you need to go to -- panels or no matter. Aside from badge pickup on Thursday night time. It's open for hours and badges aren't restricted in the same method seats or space is. No need to indicate up early for that line; go later that evening and coast proper through to pickup.

Michael Gray (@writegray) I will be capturing weddings by means of most of the wedding, which is directly exciting and terrifying. I'm not the professional of the crew, so I except to spend loads of time going "Hurrr ..."
The weekend is the right time to kick again, relax and enjoy some recreation time. Are you an achievement junkie? Can't get enough raiding? Rolling a brand new alt? Contemplating taking the leap into roleplaying? Whatever your favourite way to play World of Warcraft, let us know in the feedback what you're playing this weekend!
