We were thinking it was going to be a while off however, Mojang has announced that Minecraft 1.19 is now available for download. If you're looking to play an experimental beta version that is available, it's possible. The first test snapshot for 1.19 is available for Minecraft: Java Edition Players and will let you enter the Deep Dark and meet the Warden.
The official website has more details on how to install the snapshot. However there's no possibility of opening old worlds.Playing games is always fun 'll need to create a new one and it's unlikely that you will be able to carry any worlds that were in the experimental snapshot to future versions.
This snapshot doesn't include all features planned for 1.19 which is also known as the Wild update. However it includes the Deep Dark biome and the Ancient City biomes, as well as sculk blocks and the swift sneak enchantment.
When you are playing around with the new features, be aware that this is still an 'experimental' snapshot. This means that these systems are being developed, so any feature is subject to significant modifications.
