A movie version of Mojang Studio's Minecraft is starting to come together. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jason Momoa, an action hero is being considered for a role in a film adaptation of the well-known game. Although no contract has been signed yet however, the possibility of a new addition to Momoa is an encouraging sign of life for a film that was previously put on Warner Bros' backburner. According to THR, Warner Bros originally intended to release the film in March 2022. However, delays in production because of the pandemic forced the film to be moved to a later date. The actor from Napoleon Dynamite's Jared Hess has now reportedly committed to directing the film, and Dune producers Mary Parent and Roy Lee are also on board. It's not clear what Momoa will be doing in the film.My Cmsis still unclear what elements of the 2011 game will be featured in the film or whether we will see some of the fan favorites like Minecraft Steve. Mojang Studios released the film's storyline in the year 2019. It is quite simple: "The malevolent Ender dragon embarks on a path towards destruction, causing a young woman and her group of unlikely adventurers to take on the task of save The Overworld."
