Blood Pressure Measurement

1. It is recommended to use an upper-arm medical electronic sphygmomanometer for blood pressure measurement.

2. No drink, coffee, and stay relaxing 30 minutes before the blood pressure measurement. Empty the bladder and rest in a quiet environment for 5 to 10 minutes, then start measurement.

3. Place the upper arm at the level of the heart and fully expose the upper arm. The blood pressure cuff should be around 80%-100% of the circumference of the upper arm. The lower edge of the cuff should be 2~3 cm above the elbow fossa. Generally, it can reach 1 ~2 fingers that are moderately tight.

4. Have both the arms for measurement for the first time because the blood pressure difference between the left and right upper arms may be more than 10 mm Hg, that is, the difference in blood pressure between the arms. Then choose the arm with higher blood pressure for measurement.
