What is the difference between Java edition servers and cross-play servers?
Unlike traditional java edition servers that can only be played on a Windows, Mac or Linux PC, cross play servers can be joined by bedrock edition users as well, using multiple devices such as a Nintendo Switch, an xBox or PlayStation console, Mobile devices and a myriad of other platforms.
Can Minecraft Java edition and Minecraft Bedrock edition users play together
Absolutely! By using a true cross platform Minecraft server, like the ones above, Minecraft Java players and Minecraft bedrock players can connect to the same world and game together - In most cases you won't even have to run the same version, as most servers use the ViaVersion plugin. That being said, you will have to use a different IP address for each client type to join the server, but we provide both in the server pages.

Yes! You won't even require a Cross-Play Server to do this, since all game consoles use the same game platform, Minecraft Bedrock Edition. You can invite your friends to play on any Bedrock server.

Unfortunately, No. A Realm is a Mojang-hosted server that is only accessible to a few friends who use an invite code from Minecraft Bedrock Edition. Realms can only be joined by friends using an invite code on Minecraft Bedrock Edition.
