If you dream of attaining CPEng status in New Zealand, then you should know that professional engineers in this country are expected to perform their duties following certain rules. If you deviate from these rules, the consequences will be severe.

Having taken this fact into account, we have written this blog so that you can know about these rules. Here, we will provide you with the necessary information related CPEng Code of Ethical Conduct. So, read this blog carefully.

CPEng Code of Conduct New Zealand:

The Code of Ethical Conduct sketches the high standards of ethical behavior that are expected from all members of Engineering New Zealand. As a Chartered Professional Engineer, you have to:

·        Take wise and reasonable steps to safeguard safety and health

·        Report adverse consequences

·        Pay heed to effects on the environment

·        Act prudently and competently

·        Behave appropriately

·        Inform about the breach of Code

·        Maintain confidentiality

·        Inform others of the consequences of not sticking to the given advice

Every Engineering New Zealand member is subject to the Code. An engineer who is registered as a professional engineer is subject to a separate but identical Code. The Code doesn’t apply to those engineers who have not become members of Engineering New Zealand or Chartered Professional Engineers.

The 8 principles given here must be considered if you become a professional engineer in New Zealand, and you are also expected to stick to these rules.
