Mario is moving from one computer-generated land to another as he debuts in Minecraft.

In a new update for the Wii U version of the blockbuster game, Mario, Luigi, Wario, Toad, Princess Peach and many more Super Mario Bros characters will appear in the game from next Tuesday.

The best part is that the colorful characters are free in these days of costly downloadable content.

The Mario Pack will bring more to Minecraft than just characters.

You can also re-skin the game's items and textures, and fight harder versions of Hammer Bros. or Dry Bones. All this while listening to the soothing sounds from Super Mario 64.

Fans will have the opportunity to create their very own Mario-themed Minecraft locations, and then explore new worlds using classic faces (albeit slightly more angular) that are reminiscent of one of the most iconic games in history.

A disc-based version of Minecraft for Wii U, including all the Mario extras, is expected to be released in June.
