The Caribana carnival is an iconic event in Toronto that takes place annually. It’s a Caribbean-themed carnival that takes the city of Toronto on a wild ride of epic parties for three days.
Caribana is a token from the Caribbean islands to mark the centennial celebration in Toronto, which includes a blend of culture, costumes, music, sizzling events, and much more. It’s also the oldest cultural festival in North America. The 55th Caribana carnival this year was symbolized by the grand parade, which included a whole lot of music and dancing on the streets of Toronto.
After a two-year gap due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the carnival returned this year, and the celebrations at Barcode Saturdays were absolutely LIT. We had DJ Scream and DJ Drama on the 29th and 30th of July at our annual Caribana party. We were blessed with creative costumes, high-octane music, and a clubbing drama never witnessed before in Toronto.
If you missed this year’s carnival, you could get set to join us next year, which also promises to be an absolute banger. Here are some of the major events that are consistent at
the Caribana carnival every year:
The Grand Parade The iconic grand parade is a street celebration that takes place throughout downtown Toronto.
MAS Events Mas events include awe-inspiring performances from soca and steelpan bands.
J’ouvert Events Daytime J’ouvert events.
Carnival Ball Watch all performers come together to raise charity for the underprivileged Caribbean communities.
Clubbing Events As it gets darker, the parties get wilder with amazing Caribbean-themed parties hosted by clubs like Barcode Saturdays during the night.
