The Toronto Caribana carnival brings unanimous joy to the city with amazing street events, parties, and live gigs. We Torontonians already love the great carnival, as it gives us the chance to come together and celebrate as one big community.
The carnival is the oldest and largest cultural festival in North America and attracts millions of tourists from around the world every year. This year’s Toronto Caribana carnival was absolutely LIT; the two-year lull due to the pandemic only strengthened our spirit to celebrate even harder this year.
We were blessed with amazing artists who thoroughly lost themselves while playing to an awesome crowd. As we looked down on the dancefloor, we saw a colorful sea of creative costumes and some really electrifying dance moves.
The festival is marked by the iconic grand parade, which is a street celebration that marches through downtown Toronto. The parade consists of soca and steelpan bands, creative performers, and various artists who join the epic celebrations.
There are also many musical performances throughout the carnival, with soca and steelpan bands showcasing the musical prowess in the Caribbean. These Mas events come to a close with the carnival ball, where all these artists take the stage one after the other for the purpose of raising charity.
