How To Make Your Own Minecraft Survival Server Just For You And Friends!

EDIT : This is also how I host my Bukkit servers that me and my friends have been hosting until I get the steps for portforwarding down. Or until I have enough money to buy one.

Step 1: Server software: This step is entirely up to you. What you want to do is download your server software, it could be Bukkit, the minecraft server software from minecraft.net, or some other software I don't even know about! It is easy to download the software as usual, launch it, and then shut down the server after it has downloaded all the files.YUROCK.NET On the other hand, here's a more simple approach, make a LAN server. This can be used to allow others to connect to your world using a client that I will talk about in a moment. Create a new environment with the settings you like. Open it to LAN. A server!

Step 2: The Evolve client: This is the client I am referring to. Evolve. This is a client for you and your friends to host parties, chat with people, and find other servers. The VPN is the main feature of this client. It's similar to hamachi, but it takes the form of a Xbox Live party. You can chat with your keyboard or use a headset or mic to chat. Sign up at Evolve Home Page (opens a new window) and then download the client. (Also, this client can work on other games for hosting servers, such as Terraria, Steam Games, and even PSP games that supported Adhoc mode. Monster Hunter 3 Portable is an excellent example.

Step 3: Getting your friends: Once you got Evolve, sign in from the client, and then start getting friends to download the client too. Once you have that done, open the Friend window and click the dropdown bar to create a party. Once that's done, go into the party, invite your friends, and chose the game. (Minecraft, in this case)

Final Step: Server Time! Once you have done everything, you can now start the server.
