The Morning After: Sony Needs Beta Testers For PS5 Software

Here's your chance to try out the latest PlayStation 5 features before everyone else. Sony is launching a beta program for PS5 software for the system, with a view to testing what's believed to be an "major update" scheduled for later this year. Perhaps we'll be able expand the SSD? Sony will reveal more details regarding upcoming features in the coming weeks.

Participation is limited to PS5 owners in the US, UK, Canada, Japan, Germany and France and you must to be 18 or older to be eligible to participate. You will receive an email with instructions on how to download beta firmware if you're chosen.

Microsoft has been operating the Xbox Insider Program for years, and even Sony has tapped on its users to beta test patches for the PS4. However, this appears to be more extensive. Sony might need all the testers it can muster: PS5 is in its early stages, and it isn't easy to locate stock.

Windows 11 early hands-on

Windows 10 meets macOS. After dabbling with the (now infamous) Windows 11 leak for several hours, Devindra Harawar claims that it is a lot like macOS. This could be due to the virtues of this early version being a minimalist, even Kondo-ed version of Windows 10. The new Taskbar is located in the middle and behaves like it did before Windows 95. Microsoft appoints Satya Nadella CEO

Microsoft has appointed Satya Nadella, CEO, as its chair. This marks the first time someone has held both of these posts since Bill Gates' departure as chief executive in 2000. It's certainly another sign of confidence in a CEO who has helped Microsoft on every front: Microsoft is the world's second-highest-valued company, just behind Apple with a market value of $1.9 trillion. Nadella has also overseen a number of successful acquisitions that include Minecraft, LinkedIn, GitHub and, more recently, gaming giant ZeniMax. Continue reading.

All future Disney+ original series will be released on Wednesdays.

It's good because I'm excited for the upcoming 'Loki. It's not an anomaly in time. Disney+ will now launch new episodes on Wednesdays. Nintendo Switch will launch the free-to-start Pokemon MOBA in July

Mobile users will need to wait until September to play 'Pokemon Unite.'

It's nearly time for Pokemon Unite. The "free to play" MOBA will be available on the Switch in July and on mobile devices by September. As before, the hook is the cross-platform play You'll eventually be able to square off against rivals regardless of the device you play on.

Unite isn't for free. You can earn additional in-game rewards with seasonal battle passes (which cost real-world cash) and purchase Aeon gems, which will aid in bringing more Pokemon into battle or gain items for both your personal monsters and your trainer. Continue reading.
