Am I Eligible to Sponsor?
You can sponsor your spouse's immigration to Canada if the conditions listed below hold true in your case.
You are at least 18 years old.
You are a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or an Indian registered under the Canadian Indian Act.
You are financially capable of bearing all the expenses of their immigration and stay in Canada.
You do not receive any government aid for any reason except having a disability.
You have never been convicted of a crime, especially one committed against family members, and you have no prior criminal history.
Is My Spouse Eligible to be Sponsored?
The list of individuals whose immigration can be sponsored by their partner under this system is given below.
Spouse- Spouse is someone who is legally married to the sponsor. In this case, the applicant is required to prove the relationship by the means of a marriage certificate.
Conjugal Partner- This category applies when a couple has been in a committed relationship for more than a year but hasn't been able to live together owing to a legitimate reason.
Common Law Partner- This category is open to couples who have been living together in a setting similar to marriage for more than a year but are not actually married.
Same Sex Marriage- Same-sex marriages are also covered by this program, and such couples are also welcome to apply under this program.
