Following the airing episode, another woman has come forward with new allegations against Watson, bringing the total number of civil lawsuits to Watson to 24. with two more potentially coming. Nia Smith has previously stated that she was harassed by Watson via social media. She subsequently decided not to file a suit. However, following the HBO show, Smith admitted she felt the need to make an official statement.

Smith "was amazed by the courage of the victims willing to step forward and speak out. He was also upset by Watson and his legal team's inhumane treatment and recognization of the plaintiffs."Watson's legal team responds by saying the lawsuit is frivolous , and that the claims are deceitful.

On the 7th of June the New York Times publishes the deepest, most extensive review of the accusations concerning Deshaun's Watson. It's called "How the Texans and a spa helped to facilitate Deshaun Watson's troubling behavior" it explains Watson's former team's role had in identifying the quarterback's massage therapists, as in claiming that the team was aware of the allegations against the quarterback when they were unfolding.

Additionally, the report asserts that Watson frequently used non-disclosure agreements -- and Madden 23 Coins that the Texans supplied Watson with NDAs. It also detailed how Watson's attorney, Rusty Hardin, had deep connections to the Harris County legal system and his authority within the county could have had the potential to manipulate the process of a grand jury.
