As of 4 PM at 4 PM EST (WoW Insider's timezone) It appears that the authentication servers are down to the wire. It's likely that this is due to the midday rolling restarts they had planned for various realms, however we don't have any confirmation at the moment. Along with the login servers, the forums are down as well. That's pretty expected, as the two generally are in sync.
How long will these two duos stay down? We don't know, but hopefully it won't be too long. We are getting close to being in primetime. I'm worried that things will get more difficult before they improve if there is no authentication server on the market within the next hour. It's possible that it will be resolved much faster however.

4:20 PM: Tipsters have said that and outage at the Dallas data center could be the cause of the issues this afternoon. Along with the forums and authentication server, Blizzard.com and account management is not accessible.
4:25 PM The login screen confirms that the authentication server is down due to emergency maintenance, in addition to a whole load of servers that are listed below. Even when the realm isn't down, that doesn't mean you're out of luck. Your server might be up, but you still can't log on this moment.

4:40 PM: Tipsters are reporting Blizzard.com and account management is back and functioning, however, as you can see in the above this isn't the case for me. Perhaps it's a regional issue? I'm in Wisconsin, the Midwest. Does anyone have access to it, and if so where are you located?
4:45 PM 4:45 PM: Official forums are up. However, there is no luck with the other forums. You can browse your forums on your realm for a while at a minimum!
4:55 PM: Access to account management isn't regional, but there are people reporting they've been able to access the account management system. Luck? Beats me.
5:10 PM: A lot of users reported being unable to login, this time it was 'connecting' rather than 'authenticating'. New problem? Maybe, maybe not. We'll see! 4:57 PM: Go to the forums!
5:45 PM: Login server appears to be working! Forums still down, account management remains down, Blizzard.com still down, however, the actual game servers appear to be functioning now. Yay!
5:20 PM: There appear to be many login issues. It's not regional as there are players in the Midwest that aren't able to connect. I'm currently online from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Perhaps tied to particular realms? Are any members of Cenarion Circle still offline? Adam is here at 5:25 pm. Alex is working to improve his cooking skills in real life. Meanwhile, we're getting reports that some battlegroups are being down. That would indicate certain datacenters are experiencing problems in the meantime.
