Readers have Suggestions for WoW Improvements

A while ago WoW Insider posted an article asking our readers to suggest things they'd like to add to WoW to improve the experience. We were delighted to receive your responses , and you didn't disappoint. A few commenters offered what we considered were actually some fantastic ideas, so we thought we'd bring them up for further discussion.

This is, to my mind, an excellent idea. There are times, when leveling the level of a DPS character, I've been in a dilemma between wanting to round off the storyline of a zone and also wanting to advance with my leveling. It's easy to level up zones in WoW using buffs from guild perks, heirlooms and the like. There's no doubt that you can choose to ignore the gray mobs and the gray quests and the fact that you're being much less efficient than you would be when you move to a different zone, but why should players have to make that decision?

There's always the option to go back to old content or zones at 90, but it's still worth exploring zones at level. This change could make the game more immersive and more rich in story and replay value. Players will be able spend more time in each zone and have more areas to explore and new characters to play through.

This was something called for by many commenters, and not only ladyjbritish. And, like the above this seems like a very sensible idea. You might want to send one toon to a new server to test the water or to test out raiding guilds, or something similar, but in the end, if the new server is suitable, it's not a reason to expect players to move their entire team over to their new home.

A different commenter said that they would like to see such an option implemented at a cost less than that of a new game and that's a sensible argument. It makes sense that people would consider the new game an alternative to remaining on a dying server or paying for a large amount of money to transfer characters, or to purchase the game at a much lower price. And yes, of course you can start again on a new server, but it's quite the wrench to leave your team of alts in the dust.

A similar update is scheduled for an coming patch. Players will be able queue for several LFR sections simultaneously, but MaikS89 takes it even further by stating that players should be able queue for offline characters. At first, I'm awestruck by the idea. It's an excellent use of time, especially for DPS who have long queues. There are downsides to this idea, but they are much less obvious than other options. It could encourage players to not play the same character in the past. Although you are able to queue for LFR while queued for, and actually playing, other content changing the process to allow an offline character to queue appears to be a step too far.

On the other hand, it would allow players with an main that needs some LFR equipment, or valor, and many other alts that require equipment for leveling or other, to complete all of that in a shorter timeframe. I'm still undecided about this What do you think?

This method is much more secure and is a better choice. One factor that is against it is the possibility of fears for server economies, with players doing things like transferring huge amounts of gems or other materials from server to server in order to profit from market opportunities that are superior. However, it seems that this may be limited. It would be great to have a universal bank account to allow new characters to draw from or for heirlooms to be transferred to other characters. This would solve so many problems, minor inconveniences, of course but a huge quality of life improvement.

This request may be more specific. Personally I would like to be able to play in both regions. This allows me to spend time in-game playing with my friends from the EU as well as those from the US on the exact same accounts. I don't need to create accounts for US players to play transatlantically. It's true that the ping won't be to be the most efficient but I can play on US PTR servers without any difficulty, and indeed on live servers. This could be applied to other games as well to allow cross-region play and accounts. Fantastic idea!
