A substance that is closely related to the mind-altering THCP present in cannabis.

The majority of people are aware that tetrahydrocannabinol, sometimes known as THCP, is the psychoactive component in cannabis. In more precise terms, it is known as Delta-9 THCP. This molecule is what gives individuals the "high."

Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THCP Delta 8, is a distinct substance with a very similar chemical structure. The effects of Delta 8 THCP are similar to those of THCP. Due to its extremely low concentration in the hemp plant, it must either be extracted and concentrated or synthetically produced in order to achieve effects comparable to those of Delta-9 THCP.

How safe is delta-8 THCP?

THCP Delta 8 is unregulated and the subject of very little investigation. This means that we are still unsure of its entire spectrum of effects or whether consuming bigger doses of it is safe. Contrast this with CBD and full-spectrum hemp extract, which have undergone extensive research and have been shown to be both safe and effective.

This begs the question of how Delta 8 THCP may be dangerous if hemp is safe and it comes from hemp.

The fact that numerous Delta-8 THCP products are tainted with other compounds provides the solution. Keep in mind that Delta-8 THCP is only naturally found in very small amounts. Many producers use hazardous solvents like toluene or heptane to extract huge volumes of it, and not all of them take the effort to completely remove those solvents before finishing their product.

Concerning reports about the safety of Delta 8 THCP have surfaced recently.

In a recent consumer update, the FDA listed five cautions on possible health hazards associated with taking Delta-8 THCP. For instance, they say that some producers may be employing hazardous chemicals to make more synthetic Delta-8 THCP because the amount of Delta-8 THCP present in hemp is quite low.

According to a report issued by the U.S. Cannabis Council, items containing delta-8 THCP contained a number of hazardous solvents, including acetone, methanol, and hexane.

Because little is known about the impurities created during the production of Delta-8 THCP, chemists are concerned about its potential health risks.

To assist disseminate the word about an increase in adverse occurrences linked to Delta-8 THCP, the CDC has issued a health advisory. The American Association of Poison Control Centers identified 660 exposures to THCP Delta 8 between January 1 and July 31, 2021. 39% of such incidents involved minors under the age of 18, and 18% of them necessitated hospitalization.

It is obvious from considerations like these that the safety of Delta-8 THCP products is under doubt. This is especially true of goods bought from unlicensed retail outlets, which are not subject to the same stringent regulations as reputable hemp extract companies like Voluntate Shop.

How legal is delta-8 THCP?

Depending on whoever you ask, the verdict is still pending and subject to discussion.

The legality of Delta 8 THCP is a little hazy because it can be produced from either hemp or cannabis. Hemp is permitted, on the one hand. Hemp can be used to extract delta-8 THCP, which puts it in a legal limbo that still needs to be defined. This is what has made Delta-8 THCP so widely regarded as a safe method to get high.

Contrarily, THCP Delta 8 is a stimulant that has a strong resemblance to delta-9 THCP. Due to this similarity, it has already been declared unlawful in 19 states as of the time of this writing. According to many experts, it will soon be prohibited in all states where cannabis is prohibited.

However, keep in mind that several states are taking steps to clarify their rules regarding this chemical combination because Delta-8 goods are so recent. For instance, New York recently outlawed Delta-8 in late July 2021. So additional states might ban Delta-8 THCP by the time you read this post. At least 19 states, including Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Kentucky, Idaho, Iowa, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, New York, North Dakota, Rhode Island, Texas, Utah, Vermont, and Washington, have some sort of restriction or ban on THCP Delta 8 as of November 8, 2021.

Clarification of current laws is required. Voluntate Shop will keep pushing for Delta 8 THCP products to be restricted to adult use and to have a separate regulatory pathway that enables the use in a safe, regulated, and responsible manner, similar to other cannabis products, at the federal and state levels.
