Types of PNR Status
Confirmed (CNF)
This represents the confirmed status of tickets. The CNF status will provide a reserved berth to the passenger travelling.
Waiting List (WL)
Waiting list refers to the situation when no seat is available on the train. In this case, passengers can travel by train only when they get off the waiting list. The traveller will get the berth when any confirmed ticket holder cancels their ticket or after preparing the chart.
Reservation Against Cancellation (RAC)
It points to tickets having the status - "Reservation Against Cancellation". This means the traveller has a confirmed seat, but the berth has not been allotted. The RAC ticket has the highest chance of being confirmed. In the case of RAC, the allotted seat will be shared by two people if they don't get a confirmed seat.
Cancelled (CAN)
CAN represent a cancellation. This means the passenger has cancelled his plan to travel on this train. Remote Location Waiting List (RLWL)
RLWL represents the "Remote Location Waiting List". The tickets in the category of RLWL have very low chances of getting confirmation.
General waiting list (GNWL)
GNWL means general waiting list. It mainly includes the major stations during the journey. The chances of getting a confirmation are highest in the GNWL category.
No Seat Berth (NOSB)
It indicates tickets on the No Seat Berth reservation, which means a person can journey but without having a seat.
Pooled Quota Waiting List (PQWL)
Passengers get PQWL tickets when they travel between two intermediate stations, from the origin to an intermediate stop or from an intermediate stop to the last station.
Tatkal Quota Waiting List (TQWL)
