God possesses absolute purity, free from even the slightest hint of wrongdoing in His nature. The Holy Creator is the source of honesty, patience, purity, holiness, love, and much more, and this is reflected in the way He designed our world.
Can We Still Believe In God?God has certain expectations for us because of who He is, not because He wants to make things difficult. His potential for change or growth is nonexistent. He cannot do anything that contradicts His Nature.
You could call it the unchangeable laws of the universe.
The God spoken of in the Bible is the one who created everything in the universe, including the invisible bits. Investigate what the Bible says in this passage:
"I am the LORD; that is my name! I will not yield my glory to another or my praise to idols. (Isaiah 42:8)
For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God. (Deuteronomy 4:24)
The LORD is exalted over all the nations, his glory above the heavens. (Psalm 113:4)
Yours, LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. (1 Chronicles 29:11)
All the angels were standing around the throne...They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, (Revelation 7:11)
A lot of people today only know God in theory, they haven't had a genuine interaction with Him.
God is the ruler of everything, including us, and He wants what rightfully belongs to Him. Loving Him means serving Him, as He commands.
God is the one in charge of the world He made, and He can do what He wants with it. We would be in charge of setting the rules if we made it. But according to what God says:
'Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.' (Deuteronomy 6:5-6)
If God got rid of danger, we'd have to be robots to have an easy life. But that's not what God wanted at all. God wanted beings that could choose to love Him without force.
A being with some similarity to God Himself.
Allowing people to have free will means they might choose to reject you, which is a danger.
Giving someone the freedom to decide can result in them defying you, and that's what happened to us.
It's a concern because we all have things that we do or think that are considered wrong according to the Bible. These things go completely against God's nature and holiness, and it's like breaking the unalterable laws of the universe that He created. These actions have made us lose our connection with God.
'The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?'(Jeremiah 17:9)
'But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults.' (Psalm 19:12)
Remember that every bad decision you make carries a responsibility towards God that must be met.
What we must return to God:
'And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.' (Matthew 6:12)
God's perfect purity is being violated by all of these things. Can you see it?
Have you ever stolen anything before? God says that's wrong in the Bible.
The Bible teaches us that it's wrong to desire things that belong to other people. Have you ever felt envious of your friend's wife, life, stuff or house?
It's important to obey God's command to honor our parents. Have you ever talked back to your parents when they were disciplining you?
God prohibits the use of His Name in vain or without reverence. Did you ever use God's Name without regard for its sacredness?
God has knowledge of everything, nothing is hidden from Him. Remember, we saw that ALL the wrongs must be put right. Eventually, ALL the bad things will be scrutinized. Or, you could put it as being aligned with the unchangeable laws of the universe. Or as the Bible calls it, to make God less angry. Most people are surprised to hear this, because they've been told that God just so loves everyone. Many believe that God would never be wrathful with someone, no matter how much they transgress. It's common for people who lack basic knowledge to argue that God is supposed to love us no matter how we live.
Yes, God loves the world, but we must not overlook His holiness. It's out of reach.
It's unachievable to fathom the eternal nature of God by applying our expectations, conduct, and earthly standards.
He's from a place that's completely out of reach, but the Bible tells us about Him. Trying to make God follow our rules is like trying to control something that's not meant to be controlled.
God is not to blame for the bad things that happen in the world, even though some people accuse Him of it. The world was created without any defects. The first man, Adam, made a mistake and now we all struggle.
As the Bible teaches...
'For all have sinned (done wrongs things), and do need the glory of God. wrongs' (Romans 3:23)
Only being good and doing good things won't save you from the consequences of bad thoughts and behavior. Your salvation is only possible through Jesus Christ. Going to church and being a nice person won't automatically save you from hell. We need to be honest with God about the things we've done wrong and ask for forgiveness with sincerity. We have to give our lives completely to God after asking for forgiveness.
Again, the Bible teaches us that the result of our bad choices is facing eternal punishment in hell:
'For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.' (Romans 6:23)
God's Payment for Your Mistakes
Even though we mess up, God found a way to make it okay with His rules that always stay the same.
To fulfill His glorious plan, God sent His Son Jesus Christ to die and rise again. And, everyone witnessed this amazing plan: humans, angels, and even Satan saw it unfold in public. Nothing else can fix our wrongs.
Are you wondering "Why is God so strict? Didn't they say He was loving?" God's being is filled with love., but, the Bible is very clear, you cannot have His love without His terrifying justice as well. You cannot have one without the other.
We can't rely on our own thoughts to grasp God's ways. It's not appropriate to expect God to follow our rules because it doesn't reflect His character. God is aware of every thought you have, so there's no way to deceive Him.
Fully Surrender to God After Apologizing
If you're genuinely sorry for your mistakes, you will find yourself wanting to devote your life to God. God expects us to do this exact thing. We can choose to have God as the ultimate boss in our lives forever. We aim to obey every principle in the Bible.
According to the Bible, that's the appropriate order of things:
'Then he said to them all: "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.' (Luke 9:23)
These words were never spoken by God; 'Be kind and do good for others, and you'll be saved and come to heaven with me.'
Here's what the Most High God said about atoning for your sins:
'To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everyone else, Jesus told this parable:
"Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed:'God, I thank you that I am not like other people--robbers, evildoers, adulterers--or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.'
"But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said,'God, have mercy on me, a sinner.'
"I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted." (Luke 18:9-14)
The religious man in the story did not commit "bad" sins like child abuse, but that did not mean God forgave him.
God forgave the tax collector because he had a genuine change of heart and repented. Admitting our mistakes and handing our lives over to God is a hard thing to do. Yet, if we don't surrender to God and admit our wrongs, we can't be saved from our mistakes.
Jesus Christ expressed:
'He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them.
'And said, “Truly I say to you, unless you change and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.' (Matthew 18:2-3)
Being a genuinely good person won't clear your debt; not even an exceptionally virtuous individual can settle it.
'You were saved by faith in God, who treats us much better than we deserve. This is God's gift to you, and not anything you have done on your own.' (Ephesians 2:8)
Is It Worth Risking Eternal Damnation In Hell For A Few Moments Of Sinful Pleasure?
'Then he said to them all: "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.' (Luke 9:23)
Taking up your cross every day means living a life that pleases God, not yourself.
The Holy Bible also declares that:
'Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God--this is your true and proper worship. (Romans 12:1)
'But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.' (1Peter 3:15)
To articulate it differently:
You admit your wrongdoing and sinful nature to God. You openly admit your wrongdoing. Jesus Christ becomes your CEO. It's a commitment that spans a lifetime. Living for God is our priority, as the Bible commands. Devote time each day to reading the Bible. Praying to God daily. Letting others know about God. Doing good for others, as guided by God. Your mission and purpose in life become serving God Most High.
We get to go to heaven with our Heavenly Father.
