What is GFCI Tester

Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) testers are used to check for incorrect wiring conditions in GFCI devices, such as electrical receptacles. GFCI testers Identify smaller leakage currents in fuses and circuit breakers, These smaller leakage currents are still large enough to cause harmful electrical shocks.

 

Measuring Range of GFCI Tester

There are four ways for measuring range:

  • DC voltage range
  • DC current range
  • AC voltage range
  • AC current range

Various GFCI testers measure both AC and DC. but other measures only alternating current (AC) or direct current (DC). 

 

GFCI testers can be rack-mounted, portable, or standalone. Rack-mounted devices are rack-mountable and include hardware such as rail guides, flanges, or tabs. GFCI portable testers are portable and designed to be used while held in the hand. Standalone units can have a complete chassis or cabinet and a comprehensive interface. GFCI testers with computer board form factor are also available. These products are printed circuit boards (PCBs) that connect to computer motherboards or backplates.

 

Characteristic

GFCI testers measure single-phase or three-phase power and provide GPIB, USB, or RS232 outputs. The compact ET100 tester reanalyzes the GFCI receptacle tester by adding a comfortable design in the loop to make it easier to remove receptacles, especially those with high holding force.
