Technology in everyday life

The evolution of shopping thanks to online stores

The rush, the short time available, the difficult circulation in large cities are some of the factors that have made online stores a valuable option for many people.

Every time we have less time to go shopping, visit a shopping center or buy that special product for the garden that you can only find in a specific store in your neighbourhood.

Goodbye to commuting, traffic jams, closing hours, carrying bags, queues, and crowds. Laptop, mobile or Tablet (soft drink or glass of wine in hand to make it more enjoyable), sofa and a few clicks and you have the weekly purchase done.

A new way of consuming audiovisual content

It is nothing new to say that technology has changed the way we consume video and audio. Platforms such as Netflix, Amazon or HBO allow us to watch movies and series on demand. A breakthrough that has allowed us to:

  • Forgetting the broadcasting times of series or movies
  • Being able to watch entire seasons without having to wait a week
  • Consume personalized content according to your tastes
  • Enjoy movies that have only recently been released in theatres
  • Say goodbye to annoying advertising blocks
  • Comment on the plot and possible outcome of the fashion series at work
  • Have considerable dark circles from having watched a series of marathons until dawn. Do the phrase "the last chapter and I go to bed" sound familiar to you?

Be that as it may, we believe that it has been one of the best technological advances so far, or at least, the one that we are enjoying the most.

Robots for housework that do us “dirty work”

Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming ... are tasks, let's say, unappetizing and generating many domestic discussions. Thanks to the robot vacuum cleaners we have managed to get rid of doing them and also, of the occasional fight. So welcome robot cleaners into our life! If my grandmother had seen this, she would say: " That doesn't clean na, a cloth and knees like a whole life ..." Oh, grandmother!

And the same with the magnificent kitchen robots, you select the ingredients, the measurements, the time and that's it: gazpacho, cream, cooked, and all the recipes you want without knowing anything about cooking. An invention, but yes, like my grandmother's kitchen none.

Smart homes: How has technology entered our homes?

"Ok Google, open the blinds, turn on the living room light and call my mother." All at the stroke of a voice. Smart homes have arrived. Technology has allowed our house to know what we want at all timesOur house is aware of our routines, which news we are interested in, how we like coffee, the series we are watching, the time our alarm sounds, whether or not we are at home and many other things. Do you want to know more? Don't miss our post on smart homes.

Do you think that technology in everyday life is helping us to live better? What other aspects of our life are changing?
