Young DJs should invest in quality music. Training with MP3s with low bitrates is absurd.
I'm not DJ. This is what I've always maintained. In school and in college I was a DJ however it was difficult for me to do anything other than repeat what others did. To be sincere, I had neither the creativity or the sense to become a DJ. My DJing career was not easy. I would skip the beat and switch to the 7th instead of the 8th. But I'm a good listener. I can tell when a DJ has missed beats and I can quickly understand their mistakes. However, I'm not able entertain people all day long.
However, I'm not going to discourage anyone who is looking to become a DJ. My story should not upset your plans. My approach to people is to do whatever you like and be who you are. Be yourself and do what you want to be. DJs can be so stubborn, and they need continuous support to stay in reality. It is important for them to understand the world around them. The New Trier DJ must not convert Youtube videos to MP3 as it's not permitted in their TOS. It's also unacceptable to our ears due to the sound quality. Whatever the video resolution is (e.g. 4k 8k, 4k or 8k, etc.), the bitrate of the audio will be restricted to a 128kbps in the M4A container. But, it could technically produce MP3 at 160kbps or something similar. The numbers aren't confusing. If you are a DJ/computer music lover like me, you will realize that mp3 is able to store up to 320kbps in sound quality. It's great but it's basically separated audio. This is achieved by cutting the lowest and highest frequencies of sound into mp3. The result is lacking something. If you listen to deep house music at 320 kbps, it won't sound as deep. You can compare it to playing it off a viynil.

Beatport, Juno Download and Fruity Loops are great places to start. You can access a huge collection of sound quality that is solid and high-quality.
