If you want to know how to remove screen printing of t-shirts, you can use a heat gun or iron on tip. This method will likely work on all t-shirts. To ensure you have a success rate of 100 percent, use a screen-print removal product that is made specifically for heat transfer.

The most popular method to remove screen printing off clothes is to soak a white cotton ball in acrylic paint remover and scrub the design with the chemical. Other simple methods include using a toothbrush and hot water to melt the design away or by using an iron or hot water with a strong chemical to scrape it off. A special type of fabric dye is available in most craft and department stores to help you remove screen printing off polyester fibers.

Heat up a small amount of milk, put a white cotton ball onto the end of the cotton ball, add a little bit of sugar and mix it up. Use your hand or a brush to gently scrub the stain. Do this on both sides of the t-shirt and the fibers. After you've gotten all the loose paint off, rinse the area under warm running water. Never soak the fabric in hot water or the sugar might be permanently attracted to the fabric.

An alternative way of removing screen printing off clothes is to take acetone and heat it up in a bowl. Then dip the clothing into the mixture and shake it out. Be careful when using acetone because the fumes are harsh and they can even damage your eyes. Read the labels on acetone and follow the directions to prevent permanent damage from occurring.

If you still have not found success with either of the previous methods, you may want to consider ironing the stains out. To do this, apply the heat protective spray fabric onto a piece of white cotton cloth and place it over the area where the printing has occurred. Place the iron on top of the cloth and iron it down for a few minutes. If necessary, repeat the process with another layer of cloth until the stain has disappeared.

Your next option would be to use an iron that has a fabric softener on it. Simply place the iron onto a piece of clean cloth, press down on it until the fabric gets warm, remove the excess fabric on the iron, and then iron the garment. It will take a few minutes, but it will be worth it in the end. When you iron a t-shirt with heat sensitive fabric on it, make sure to allow the garment to sit on the fabric for a full 24 hours before returning it to the cold or hot setting. The reason for this is because the heat from the garment could cause the fabric to become damaged by the direct heat of the iron, which could weaken the fibers in your t-shirt.
